Content Management Systems

Content Management

A Content Management System (CMS) allows website administrators, who may have limited knowledge of web page markup languages, to author their own website pages. It effectively provides a "back door" for site administrators to easily create and manage website content. Typically these systems utilize a database to store page content, and other information assets such as photographs and videos, that might be required by the website design.

Originally a blog tool, one of the more popular CMS is WordPress. Because it is a collaborative effort of many independent volunteer Software Engineers, Programmers, and others, it is "open source", which means it is free to download from WordPress.

One of the benefits of WordPress is the large number of designs or "themes" available for little or no cost. These can be used "as–is" with minor personalized changes such as logo design, or customized to any extent necessary to achieve a desired design.

eVantageFive will work with you to install and customize WordPress. We can also design and build completely custom Content Management Systems using PHP and MySQL.
